About the desk
Diernatuur Wikiis an independent, evidence-based reference work and news desk on natural and complementary veterinary medicine — from herbs and supplements to CBD, safety and regulation, for dogs, cats, rabbits and horses. Every topic carries a visible verdict on the strength of the evidence, including an honest “no evidence”. We sell nothing and have no stake in which remedy you choose.
How we work
We write factually and check claims against authoritative sources such as the European Medicines Agency, veterinary literature and national authorities. For rulings and claims we link to the original, so you can read it yourself. Where the scientific evidence is limited, we say so honestly.
We use AI tools to process sources quickly when putting our articles together. Every piece is the responsibility of the editorial desk: we set the angle, check the facts and put our name to it.
Our editors
Each section has a dedicated editor who follows the topic closely:
- Sam Jansen
Research editor
Sam digs into research and data and writes plainly about what the studies do and do not show.
- Alex de Vries
Business editor
Alex follows the market and business closely and finds out what the numbers really mean.
- Robin Bakker
Regulation editor
Robin keeps an eye on rulings, decisions and oversight, so you know what is going on.
- Noa Smit
Features editor
Noa collects readers' stories and writes about how developments play out in everyday life.
No medical advice
Diernatuur Wiki does not give medical advice and does not make diagnoses. If you have symptoms or take medication, always consult a doctor or pharmacist.
